of cpinal cord sufferers at Stoke
Mandeville National Spinal Injuries
Centre, Aylesbury, of which he was
founder and director for 22 years, and
is based on personal experience ofover
4000 paraplegics and tetrapiegics.

with traumatic lesions, it also includes
other aetiologies ofspinal cord damage,
such as transverse myelitis, spina bifida
and vascular lesions. All aspects of
