Prof Eustace Johnson is an experimental cell biologist who has worked closely with clinicians to develop basic and translational research into cell therapies for spinal injuries. Eustace is currently based at the University of Chester, where he leads a group of 5-8 postgraduate research students working in regenerative medicine, with some research in cancer therapeutics, and where he teaches across a range of postgraduate programmes. Prior to Chester, Eustace was a Senior Lecturer in Regenerative Medicine at Aston University (2010-2015) and Lecturer at Keele University (2007-2010), when also he was the Principal Cell Biologist of the RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, UK. Postdoctoral research posts were held at Keele/RJAH Orthopaedic, as a visiting Research Fellow of the University of Kentucky (awarded the McNab/Larocca Fellowship) and the University of Birmingham, UK.
