fingers have been recommended (Fowler, 1959; Riordan, 1959; Zancolli, 1965). However,
it is still very questionable whether these procedures have been really beneficial to
improve the functions of these muscles in tetraplegics, and unless the patient needs these
muscles for specific fine movements these surgical procedures in tetraplegics are really
unnecessary.
