It was found, even following larger doses of intrathecal alcohol injection, that in some
cases spasticity was not completely abolished or returned after certain periods. If the reflex
activity is only mild or moderate this is by no means a disadvantage. A repetition of the
alcohol block is indicated only if the spasticity again becomes uncomfortable to the
patient, which, in the writer's experience, is rather uncommon.
