Subjective symptoms
The large scale redistribution of blood resulting from the vasoconstriction in the
paralysed areas following distension and hyperactivity of the bladder is associated with
certain subjective symptoms. Patients with complete transverse lesions may complain
about discomfort in the abdominal and particular the suprapubic region or in the penis,
followed by an undefined ascending sensation in the midline of the body; furthermore
