CHAPTER 7
The venous return from the spinal cord takes place through veins accompanying
the anterior and posterior roots which drain into the spino-vertebral venous plexus, which
at thoracic and lumbar level empties into the azygos vein and has, therefore, connections
with the venous system of lungs and the abdominal and pelvic cavities.
